Cancellation & Refund Policy

Civil Litigation Consultancy

Last updated: 9 October 2026

Our Policy

Civil Litigation Consultancy provides professional services rather than physical goods. The following terms apply to telephone consultations purchased through our website. Cancellation arrangements for Case Reviews and other instructed services will be confirmed separately, subject to applicable consumer rights.

We appreciate that circumstances can change. However, appointments involve the reservation of time that would otherwise be available to other clients. We therefore ask clients to provide as much notice as possible if they need to cancel or rearrange a consultation.

Telephone Consultation Bookings

Telephone consultations are charged at £75 and must be paid for in advance.

Following payment, we will contact you within one working day to offer available appointment times.

Your booking date and time will be confirmed once a mutually convenient appointment has been agreed.

If we are unable to offer a mutually convenient appointment, you may request a full refund.

Rescheduling Appointments

Clients may reschedule a confirmed telephone consultation on a maximum of two occasions.

Rescheduling requests must ordinarily be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment and are subject to availability.

Requests for a third rescheduling will generally be treated as a cancellation. Any refund or charge will be considered in accordance with this policy and applicable consumer law.

We reserve the right to consider exceptional circumstances at our discretion, without restricting statutory rights.

Cancellations and Missed Appointments

Outside any applicable statutory cancellation period, confirmed telephone consultations are generally non-refundable where a client cancels at short notice or fails to attend.

Where an appointment is cancelled, we reserve the right to retain a reasonable amount of the consultation fee to reflect the time reserved, work already undertaken and losses directly arising from the cancellation, after taking reasonable steps to minimise those losses.

Any amount retained will be proportionate to the circumstances and will not exceed the consultation fee paid.

Where a client fails to attend without notice, the full consultation fee may be retained where this is justified by the resulting loss.

Your Statutory Right to Cancel

Consumers purchasing services online generally have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days after entering into the contract.

To exercise this right, you may notify us clearly by email or in writing before the cancellation period expires. You do not need to give a reason.

Where you expressly request that a consultation takes place within the statutory cancellation period, and the necessary legal requirements have been met, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for services already supplied if you subsequently cancel.

Where the consultation has been fully provided following your express request and the required acknowledgement, your statutory right to cancel may be lost.

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes your statutory consumer rights.

Cancellation by Civil Litigation Consultancy

If we need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, we will contact you as soon as reasonably practicable.

Where an alternative appointment cannot be agreed, you will receive a full refund for the consultation that has not been provided.

Refunds

Approved refunds will ordinarily be returned to the original payment method.

We will process refunds without undue delay and within any timeframe required by law. The time taken for the funds to appear in your account may depend on your payment provider.

Where a client has instructed us to undertake a Case Review, prepare documents or provide other litigation support, cancellation and payment arrangements will be governed by the terms agreed for that work, together with any applicable statutory rights.

Nothing in this policy affects your rights where services are not supplied with reasonable care and skill or where another statutory remedy applies.
